Executive Tape to Electronic Format Conversion Service
Older CNC machine tools frequently require the loading of "Executive Tapes" and "MDI" tapes in order to run. This usually needs to be done after a power failure (in the event the system backup batteries are bad or non existent) or maintenance. We can convert all of your Executive and MDI tapes to an electronic format. This electronic version of your Executive Tapes can then be downloaded to your machine tool easily and simply through a BTR interface. You will need a BTR any way if you're going to be using a computer to transfer your NC programs to that older machine.
We've found that, while not difficult if you have the necessary equipment and computer software, the process of reading Executive Tapes into a computer file can be frustrating and time consuming if you've never done it before. You can waste many hours trying to get this done. We have the equipment and experience necessary to get this job done for you in an efficient manner.
We promise a one business day turn around. In addition we can also provide you with a duplicate executive tapes punched in MYLAR for an extra charge.
Our normal service provides for:

We will read each tape at least three times to insure accuracy. In addition, we do a computer file compare on each tape to insure that the tapes were read correctly.
- We will send you a CD (or a 3.5" floppy disk if requested) with all the tapes necessary for loading. We will also include a duplicate disk for use as a backup.
- We can also email the resulting files to you the same day we receive your tapes if your needs are immediate.
- We will also retain an archive copy of your tapes so that they are available in the event that you lose the electronic version that we send you.
- Our tapes are guaranteed to work!
If you can't
afford to have your executive tapes leave your facility we can bring
our equipment to you. That's our usual practice during BTR
installations anyway. We will read your tapes on-site and then
do a complete tape verification. In addition, we will confirm
the new tape file by doing a test load on your machine when we're
finished. Contact us for

If you need
duplicates of existing tapes we can do that as well. We will
take your tape and provide you with a duplicate punched in Mylar®.
If your tapes are worn we can usually repair them as well during the
duplication process. We can also provide you with a tape file
on CD for archive purposes in the event that the tapes are lost.
