A Few Reasons Why You Should Consider DNC

Are you still using punched tape? If so, do you have a problem with any of the following:

Excessive programmer and operator time spent fooling with tapes resulting in machine downtime.
Tape storage getting to be a problem.
Tape reader and tape punch maintenance is starting to be costly.
Paper and Mylar tape is becoming expensive to buy.
Misplaced tapes.
Running the wrong tape or wrong revision.
Executive tapes are becoming worn out from repeated use.

Do you run long programs from tape?

What happens when you need to restart a program (due to tool break etc.) from the middle of a large program? Do you end up cutting "air" instead of metal?

What do you do when programs are larger than a reel of tape?

Other Reasons to Consider DNC

Reduce Set-Up Time.
Support ISO 9000 Compliance
Organize your NC Program Library
Improve Security
The editors in some of our CNC controls are difficult to use.
It's difficult to save programs that have been edited at the CNC machine.
We MDI each new program that we run and that results in machine downtime.
We end up using MDI to reenter frequently run jobs each time we run them.
We have one or more older NC machines that we still use extensively.
Programmers are frequently interrupted by machine operators.
We frequently need to load executive tapes into our older machines.

If you are beyond the tape stage, but using portable CNC MiniFile™ for DNC, do you have any of the following problems?

The disks we use in our MiniFile keep going bad.
We're not happy with the support we get from our MiniFile supplier.
It's not possible to do any editing with the MiniFile.
MiniFiles are becoming expensive to buy and repair.
We sometimes need to run programs that are larger than a MiniFile can handle.
If a tool breaks during a long program it's often necessary to restart the program from the beginning and that results in hours of cutting "air".

If you are having these problems, isn't it time to "BUST OUT OF THE BOX!"
